Welcome to Casa De King
Does that make any sense? Anyway, we got a house and my title is supposed to say "Welcome to the King House!" We move in Jan. 2 2009! What a perfect way to start off a new year. I'm so looking forward to 09! New house and our little miracle will be here. It's so funny because Troy and I have been talking about moving out into our own place (we found out I was pregnant in August and we said we've move in Jan.) Well, the day after Thanksgiving we went to Fresno to start getting stuff for a house (even though at that point we didn't have a house picked out. well, on the way to Fresno, I seen a cute house off the side of the road, for rent! I didn't say anything to Troy at that point.. on the way home I told him to look at it and asked him what he thought. We called the next day to set up an appt to go see it. We loved it! Although it was pretty dang messy and needed a good cleaning, we knew it had great potential! So, needless to say, we sign the lease and put down the deposit this Friday! The rent is cheap and the house is big.. and our favorite part - IT'S OUT IN THE COUNTRY!!!! No neighbors, just pure fields surrounding us. We love it! I can't wait to move in and start decorating and making it our little home!!!

Turning the heater on for the first time...
Okay, so I know other people out there can relate. You know how it starts to get cold in your home or office, but not yet cold enough for the heater, so you manage by just turning of the AC? K..well, today it got REALLY cold in my office, so we turned off the AC. We thought that'd be good enough. Well about 15 min ago we decided to turn on the heater just to take the chill away. OMG. Seriously. It smells like a dead animal has rotted away in the air ducts. All of its glorious smell has now entered MY office. It's disgusting. I'm pregnant - and anyone who has been pregnant knows their sense of smell is heightened by like 56 million times. So, in the event of us trying to keep warm, we now have an office that smells like a dead rodent and roses (because of my brilliant idea to spray Air Freshner). If you need insurance and come to Bacome, prepare to breath in nothing but nastiness. Oh, I've also defeated the WHOLE purpose of being warm by propping open the front door to air out the dead rodent smell. So, I love when a good idea in its beginnings sounds great, until it back fires.
EWWWW - that's all I have to say.
EWWWW - that's all I have to say.

so beautiful
I had to share this article another friend shared w/ me. I love Bridgette - talk about a sweetheart! Thanks, Bridgeeee for sharing. I will be taking each one of these lines and putting them throughout Kaylee's baby scrapbook. So adorable. I love it.
Thirty-two things that change when you have a baby....
1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.
2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.
3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.
4. You respect your body... finally.
5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.
6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.
7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.
8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have been banished years ago.
9. Your heart breaks much more easily.
10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.
11. Every day is a surprise.
12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. (Horray for poop!)
13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.
14. You become a morning person.
15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.
16. You discover how much there is say about one tooth.
17. You finally realize that true joy doesn't come from material wealth.
18. You now know where the sun comes from.
19. You'd rather buy a plastic tricycle than those shows you've been dying to have.
20. You realize that although sticky, lollipops have magical powers.
21. You don't mind going to bed at 9 p.m. on Friday night.
22. Silence? What's that?
23. You realize that the 15 pounds you can't seem to get rid of are totally worth having.
24. You discover an inner strength you never thought you had.
25. You no longer rely on a clock - your baby now sets your schedule.
26. You can give parents with a screaming child an 'I-know-the-feeling' look instead of a 'Can't-they-shut-him-up?' one.
27. Your dog - who used to be your 'baby' - becomes just a dog.
28. You take the time for one more hug and kiss even if it means you'll be late.
29. You learn that taking a shower is a luxury.
30. You realize that you can love a complete stranger.
31. You find yourself wanting to make this world a better place.
32. If you didn't believe in love a first sight before, now you do!

OUR BABY GIRL!
Well, it's a girl! Kaylee Madilynn King. How amazingly blessed do I feel?! Two days before Thanksgiving, and we find out our baby is COMPLETELY healthy and is "perfect"! The ultrasound tech kept saying over and over how amazingly pretty her little face is and how strong she is. She was flipping and kicking and punching. When we first started the ultrasound, Kaylee stuck up her little thumb and opened her mouth... and then stuck her whole hand in mouth. It was so adorable to see my little girl sucking on her fingers, haha. The ultrasound tech also said she has to be an athlete because of her structure and how beautiful her legs are. I'm so excited!!!! 20 more weeks and I'll be able to hold her against me and look into her little eyes and grab her little fingers.. and kiss her little face. I can't wait.

17 weeks!!
Wow! I'm 17 weeks pregnant as of yesterday. I really cannot believe how fast time goes by. I remember when I was younger, the whole concept of time meant nothing. Now, it's like I try to catch minutes and hours and save them.
I heard my baby's heartbeat Friday, November 7 for the first time. I would sit here and explain how I melted, how my eyes got watery, and how my own heart skipped a beat, but there really are no words to explain the feeling I felt. It was simply perfection. Troy thought it was pretty amazing, too. The next appt is November 25 when we get to find out the sex! I'm betting on a little girl. Troy is convinced we're having a boy. I don't care either way. We officially have names. These names are set in stone!
Girl - Kaylee Madilynn King
Boy - Bryce Smith King
There is a story behind 'Smith'.. it was Troy's idea to put Smith as the middle name. Troy's actual last name should technically be Smith. His biological's father (Troy's biological grandfather) passed away and his mother remarried and took King as her name. So King became the family name. When Troy was born, they decided to keep Smith in the name, and we decided to keep the name alive as well.
As for the girl's name.. I've ALWAYS wanted to name my little girl Kaylee. I just love the name. The name was originally going to be Madilynn Michelle King, but after thinking about it (and thinking about the reasons as to why I originally wanted the name), I figured it wouldn't be fair to my child to name her that. I was going to have Michelle as the middle name, as my best friend passed away last year. Her name was Michell. But I don't want my child's name to be a constant reminder of Michell's death, so I have decided to keep Michell's memory alive in other ways.
ANYWAY! That's the update for now!
